Tapiz Seleccion de Barricas Red 2004, Bodegas Tapiz |
|
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, with aromas of a basket of black berried fruit, and on the palate a medley of blackcurrant, plums and damson with dry tannins providing backbone and adding to the complexity of a seriously good value wine. I have not yet found a weakness in the Tapiz range and believe there is a great future ahead for this Bodegas, as well as probably greater prices. Whilst the steak naturally springs to mind as a partner, it would equally marry well with rare Pampas Plains Fillets of Lamb in a rich gravy. Jancis Robinson gave it a 17+ "Intriguing and complex blend offering real value. And refreshment. Appetising finish" .
